The elegant Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts is a world-class venue that opened in October, 1997, a gift of the late Jackie Everts Bancroft Spencer Morgan. An heir of her first husband’s family fortune, Jackie was ever generous with her wealth, continually touching the lives of those around her, and leaving a legacy to be proud of. The Spencer Theater was a particularly important project to Jackie, due to her life-long love of theater.
The mission of the Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts is to enrich the cultural lives of South-Central New Mexico residents and visitors by serving as a year-round venue for world-class performances in theater, music and dance. The $22-million structure is truly a work of art; splendid and elegant, yet intimate and welcoming.
Visitors will find that the 514-seat hall offers incredible acoustics, comfortable seating, and artistry of the finest caliber.
